Materials Manager/Supply Chain Manager – Manufacturing c40k + Bonus + Excellent benefit package to attract the right candidate Sussex
This is an opportunity to stamp your mark on the supply chain and materials management function at the UK manufacturing division of a multi-billion global giant. The $80M business unit is a market leader in engineered and standard products to the process industry. You can earn excellent rewards and recognition for directly strengthening its P&L results. You’ll succeed through developing the team successfully and equipping them to support growth into expanding markets.
In the role you will:
• report to the Plant Manager and have a dotted line to the European Supply Chain Director. • work with the entire supply chain to drive profitability – there will be extensive time spent on the shop floor and with suppliers. • take a lead role in knitting together a highly productive team. • ensure that existing and new suppliers are best in class – negotiating supply agreements and developing relationships that add value and minimise risk. • manage, review, amend, remove and re-design processes. • play a key role in the implementation of new systems and tools.
You must have:
• a proven record in a similar functional role, ideally in manufacturing outsourced significantly to India or China. Experience of supplier liaison and contract negotiation. • strong people management skills and the ability to build productive customer focused teams. • the ability to handle change and work at pace under pressure. • the ability to drive through your own initiatives in a ‘hands on’ way, leading from the front. • an HND level education and, ideally, a relevant professional qualification (i.e. CIPS). Experience of using ERP systems is a distinct advantage.
