Our client is a leading international manufacturer of precision engineered components and systems for tolerance critical applications. The Group operates in the Aerospace, Industrial Gas Turbine, Medical, Automotive and Petro-Chemical markets employing over 4500 people in the UK, USA, Germany, Belgium and Mexico.
They are currently looking for an Assistant Planner for their Production Department in Billingham.
The main responsibilities include finite capacity planning, running daily MRP and MPS to establish production needs, checking reports from MRP, liaising with subcontractors regarding delivery dates & liaising with production for despatch dates. You will be responsible for the production of daily / weekly production reports and the preparation of weekly production plans.
The successful candidate will have knowledge in planning forecasts, scheduling and receiving orders from the sales department leading to a high production output. You must work well under pressure, as the role involves the responsibility of many different lines of machinery. Strong communication skills are required along with a flexible approach and the ability to use your initiative. It is also important that you are IT literate and possess a high level of accuracy.
The role may suit a candidate of graduate cablibre who has an interest in the industrial field, however the most important aspect will be for a candidate to show strong commitment. We seek an individual who will be able to change what is an unpredictable sales demand into an efficient and effective production programme therefore you will need a passion for the industry.
