Engineering Manager – Food Manufacturing Grimsby c50,000 Plus Car, BUPA
As a leader in the growing chilled retail seafood sector, our client's innovative range of retail products continues to exceed their customers' expectations. Offering products from traditional Cod and Chips, through to premium fish in sauce dishes, they have an expanding client portfolio from the retail sector. They are now looking to recruit an Engineering Manager to join their team.
In this senior position you will be responsible for leading two site engineering teams, ensuring each team is able to continuously improve the availability of equipment to manufacture quality products in a safe and cost effective way.
As the Engineering Manager you will need to be an effective leader with exceptional people skills, who is confident describing the vision for the function to various groups of people. This role requires an understanding of modern maintenance techniques and procedures, as well as a good working operational knowledge of manufacturing sites.
You will also play an integral role in developing and driving both sites' engineering improvement plans, focusing on the following topics:
- Work planning and task improvement - Information systems and performance measures - Building organisation capability - Engineering development and materials management - Purchasing and supplier development
To succeed in this position you must have extensive experience in an engineering management position within a FMCG environment, ideally within food manufacturing. You will also need to be an Engineering graduate (or equivalent) with knowledge of the key principles of improving plant performance.
Additionally, as the Engineering Manager you must possess a driven personality with the ability to motivate the site engineering teams, and you must be confident developing strong working relationships across the business.
